To apply for the US or Canadian permanent residency, you need to submit an original police certificate from South Korea.
The name of the required document is Criminal (Investigation) Records Check Reply (범죄· 수사경력 회보서) where the police certificate indicatse all records have been searched, including any lapsed records.
IRCC require this certificate within a maximum of two months from the date of the request letter.
